Oven Fries

These fries are delicious. Eat them with no guilt as they contain very little oil. Baking it an in oven helps to keep the outside crispy. Serve it the regular way that you would eat fries. Add it as a side to burger, serve it with ketchup & mustard and enjoy. The recipe calls for baking potatoes, but you may use other sized potatoes using the same recipe, so long as the quantity of potatoes remains the same.


  • 2 large baking potatoes
  • 3 tblsp. Canola oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 5ml soft butter, vegan butter (optional)
  • a sprinkle of chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • Sprinkling of parsley


  • Scrub potatoes. Using a crumpled piece of foil is an excellent way to wash potatoes over running water. Remove blemishes and slice into large pieces for fries
  • Put it into an oven tray and apply all the ingredients except parsley. Mix and spread in oven tray
  • Bake at 400° between 30-45min.
  • About half way through, move the fries around. Use a long handled spoon and wear oven gloves
  • Use a skewer or fork to test if potatoes are soft.
  • Taste & adjust salt & chili powder. Sprinkle with parsley
  • Serve as regular fries
